BLÆST is a simple hat design suitable for both men and women, boys and girls. Blæst is also the Danish word for wind. The pattern comes in two sizes to fit both a child, a teen and an adult. You can change the style of the hat by regulating the length of the hat or adding a pom-pom. The hat is worked bottom up using the Cable Cast On method. This cast on creates an elastic edge perfect for hats.
Sizes:
There are two sizes.
Size 1 fits head sizes 53 – 58 cm / 21 – 23 inches.
Size 2 fits head sizes 56 – 61 cm / 22 – 24 inches.
Gauge: 38 stitches x 40 rows in 2×2 Ribbing in the round, relaxed and after blocking.
Suggested needle size: 3.5 mm / US 4
Yarn: Approximately 185 (220) meter [200 (235) yards] of sport weight wool yarn. You will need extra yarn for the pom-pom.
2 (2) skeins of Chickadee by Quince & Co, (166 m [181 yards] / 50g). 2 skeins are enough to make the pom-pom aswell.
